Chief Operating Officer
Lyndon Hopkins is a geologist with more than 30 years’ experience in gold exploration, development and production. Mr Hopkins was Chief Operating Officer of Equigold NL’s Ivory Coast operations and managed the in-country aspects of the project development and feasibility study for the Bonikro Gold Mine which commenced production in 2008. More recently, he was Mine Manager for the construction of Regis Resources Ltd’s Rosemont Gold Mine.
He has been involved with numerous gold operations in Australia and Africa in various roles with Equigold and Regis.
Chief Development Officer
Matthew Wilcox directly manages the construction of West African’s Sanbrado Gold Mine. Mr Wilcox is highly experienced in the gold mining construction industry in West Africa, having spent the past eight years working for Nord Gold SE, which operates nine gold mines globally, including three mines in Burkina Faso and one mine in Guinea. Mr Wilcox was Project Director for the construction of Nord Gold’s 4Mtpa Bissa Gold Project and 8Mtpa Bouly Gold Project, both located in Burkina Faso. He was General Manager of the 6Mtpa LEFA Gold Project in Guinea, and most recently was Project Director for the construction of the 12Mtpa Gross Gold Project in Siberia, Russia. Mr Wilcox also worked with engineering firms Lycopodium and Minproc based in Perth. He holds Bachelor of Science (Applied Chemistry) and Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) degrees from Curtin University, Perth.
Chief Financial Officer
Padraig O’Donoghue has extensive experience in the mining industry and has held CFO and Company Secretarial positions with several private and ASX listed mining and contracting companies, including Consolidated Rutile, VDM, Navigator, Jabiru and Barminco. Mr O’Donoghue’s career has included roles with PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Vancouver Canada and with Placer Dome and Barrick in senior management and operational positions in Australia and internationally. Mr O’Donoghue holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia, Canada and is a Chartered Accountant.
GM Exploration and new projects
Vincent has over 25 years’ experience as a mine, exploration and consulting geologist. He is experienced in a number of different geological environments and has worked extensively in Africa and Australia. Vincent has managed large grass roots, advanced exploration projects, and Resource definition drilling programs. He has been mainly involved with Gold, Iron ore and base metal Greenfields and Brownfields projects and has been successful converting geological targets into known deposits. Among career highlights to date was his involvement with the discovery of Randgold’s +10Moz gold Morila gold mine in Mali. Since 2006 Vincent has occupied a variety of management posts.
Burkina Faso General Manager of Administration
Over 30 years experience in security and over 15 years in mining roles in West Africa. He has held senior management positions including Director of Security for Nord Gold’s Burkina operations, and as alternate General Manager at the Bissa Gold Mine. He is a former Officer with the French Military and French Foreign Legion.
General Manager - Operations
Mr Holden is an accomplished operational manager with broad-based experience in gold mine and process management. He has more than 14 years’ experience in site-based operational roles in West Africa and Australia. Mr Holden was most recently Director General of Nordgold’s Taparko Gold Mine in Burkina Faso.
General Manager - Technical Services
Mr Cruickshanks is a Mining Engineer with more than 25 years’ experience in the mining industry and has held operation and technical management roles with major and junior mining companies in Australia and Africa. He consulted to the industry with RSG Global and Coffey Mining undertaking feasibility studies, operational support and operational implementation roles. Mr Cruickshanks has been consulting to West African Resources since early 2016 and has been directly involved in the feasibility studies produced over the past three years. Mr Cruickshanks is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and remains the Company’s Competent Person as defined in the 2012 Edition of the Australasian Code for Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves (the JORC Code).
General Manager - Finance
Mr Giltay has over 17 years’ experience working for Aurion, Placer Dome and Barrick. Todd brings a balanced approach to the finance team having worked nine years directly in site-based finance roles and the last eight years in corporate finance. Mr Giltay’s most recent role as Financial Controller with Barrick (Australia) saw him responsible for key functions such as treasury, consolidated reporting, joint venture reporting, controls compliance and statutory reporting. Mr Giltay has a well-developed understanding of all aspects of finance functions and has considerable experience working within ERP systems. He is a CPA qualified accountant and has extensive experience in mine based gold projects in Australia, Africa and Papua New Guinea.
