Exploration by West African Resources has defined other targets within the current Boulsa Gold Project area. These areas include:
The Goudré Permit is located in the southwest corner of the Boulsa Gold Project and contains the strike extension of the Moktedu Prospect, which is supported by detailed aeromagnetic data and historic soil sampling (up to 2,140ppb Au), is in the northwest corner of the permit.
The Goudré Permit also contains a historic exploration target called the Boudry Prospect which includes a number of high tenor soil samples including 560ppb Au, 145ppb Au, 63ppb Au and 55ppb Au. Geological mapping and grab sampling of quartz float returned high-grade results including peak values of 135.5g/t Au, 66.7g/t Au, 54.4g/t Au and 13.3g/t Au. Reconnaissance by West African geologists indicates the gold system may extend over 3km. Four trenches were excavated by previous workers in the 1990s over approximately 800m and returned significant results including 6m at 1.90g/t Au, 18m at 0.55g/t Au, 41m at 0.40g/t Au and 24m at 0.36g/t Au, including 4m at 1.16g/t Au.
West African commenced aircore drilling at Goudré early in the June 2014 quarter.
The Bissiri permit covers 100km2 and is located 16km southwest of the Moktedu Prospect and 10km west of Orezone Gold Corp’s 5.2Moz Au Bomboré deposit. West African acquired the permit in late 2010. The Bissiri permit has been lightly explored with work comprising soil-sampling, pitting, mapping and rock-chip sampling. Significant artisanal workings are present on the property and extend over 200m in strike length, located in the eastern portion of the permit area. Work by previous permit owners has delineated a 1.1km long +50ppb gold-in-soil anomaly, with peak results of up to 225ppb gold. Grades of up to 20.87g/t gold have been returned from rock-chip sampling near artisanal workings, coincident with the soil anomaly. Lithological contacts between granitoid and volcano-sedimentary units occur within the Bissiri permit, which are prospective for gold mineralisation. We have completed two programs of auger drilling on the prospect, including an initial 400m by 200m regional grid and infill 200m by 50m grid. Three high tenor zones remain to be tested on the Bissiri permit. Peaks include 747, 735 and 672 ppb Au.
